Built like Vedennius built.
We named the company after an engineer, not an empire. It is a standard to be held to, not a story to hide behind.
In the late first century, a Roman military engineer named Gaius Vedennius Moderatus spent his career building the machines that made Rome's army the most formidable engineering operation in the ancient world.
Torsion catapults and ballistae: precision-tensioned war machines that had to work exactly the same way under every commander, in every province, for decades at a stretch. His tombstone, carved with a depiction of one of those machines, survives today as one of archaeology's clearest records of how Roman artillery was actually engineered.
He wasn't a general and he wasn't a strategist. He was an architectus: the person who turned ambition into something that actually worked, reliably, under pressure, without him standing over it. That's the standard we build to.
His name, Moderatus, meant disciplined. Restrained. Built to hold its tension without snapping. A torsion engine only works because every part is under load and none of it is guessing. That is a fair description of a system worth running a business on.
Not a marketing invention: his memorial tombstone is real, dated to the late first century AD, and stands today as one of the earliest surviving depictions of a Roman torsion catapult.
Full memory
Every system runs on your real material: your documents, your history, your voice. Not a generic script wearing your logo.
Full access, nothing assumed
Systems connect only to what you approve. Public claims and formal deliverables still get a human sign-off before they go out.
Full control stays with you
The system assists. You decide. Automation should extend your judgment, never quietly replace it.
What the standard means in practice.
Principles are cheap. These are the specific commitments they translate into, and you should hold us to them.
We say what a system can't do
Before you buy it. The limits of a build are part of the scope, in writing, alongside what it will handle.
AI identifies itself
Voice and chat agents we build disclose that they are AI. We do not build systems designed to be mistaken for a person.
Your data is not our product
We do not sell client or visitor data, and we do not hand client material to model providers for training.
A person signs off on what goes out
Contracts, public claims, and formal deliverables get human review before they leave. Drafting is automated; responsibility is not.
We tell you when not to buy
If a system would not pay for itself at your size, or the problem is a process problem rather than a software problem, that is the recommendation you will get.
Hold us to it.
The fastest way to judge whether this is real is to put a live problem in front of us and see what we say.
